Completely untrue. You shouldn't hurt yourself if you're relaxed when you try. Try to be as relaxed as possible and the whole situation should be a lot easier for you. Make sure you're inserting it at the right angle (read the instructions for info on this) and gently push. It might feel a little uncomfortable and weird, but it really will get easier. Push it as far as you possibly can (it won't get lost, don't worry) and that should be you done (also, don't "shove" it in as your friend said. That'll hurt).

Wtf? That's just completely wrong. The angle you're putting it in is probably off; read the directions again and look at those nifty little diagrams they give you. Once it's in, you shouldn't really be able to feel it. The first few times are pretty difficult, since you're not sure how it's supposed to feel, but if you can get your finger in, then you can definitely fit a tampon in. Keep trying; you'll get it eventually.

Do NOT just shove it in. If it hurts once it's in, pull it out. It's hard at first, i know. :) but just breathe and try a few different angles. be patient, you'll figure it out. i was a virgin when i started using tampons. they hurt a little when you're just getting started, but you shouldn't feel much once it's in if it's in properly. also be aware that it will feel a little dry at first because it hasn't taken in the blood yet. good luck!

Your angle is off. I had that problem when I first started using them, too.

It doesn't hurt. Just prop one of your legs up on the bathtub or a stool or something to get the right angle to put it in. It will feel extremely strange and uncomfortable at first because you're not used to it just yet. But as soon as you start to get the hang of it, it will be easier to slide in and pull out.

What is with this virgin thing? Being a virgin rarely affects tampon fit. It's different for every individual, regardless of whether they've had a dick in them or not. God.

well.....maybe your Hymen hasn't broken enough for a tampon to fit in it yet....

If it hurts then you shouldn't be trying to use one. Just give a little more time to yourself. Stop worrying about such futile things.

well you know you dont have to use one you could you the pad....more natural and nothing goes inside your tender spot the pad wraps around the inside of your under garments good luck

Don't worry about being a virgin, it doesn't affect whether the tampon fits. Try putting it in when you are having your period, and there's natural lubrication from the blood. Also try using KY Jelly or some other type of sterile lubricant to get it in the first few times.
