I'm so nervous. I have a hyperthyroidism which just means my metabolism is crazy fast, I have a huge appetite (which isn't that bad) but it's getting out of control. I could have 10 meals a day and not gain weight. I also have some other symptoms but that is the worst of the autoimmune disease. If I dont get treated I can be too flaccid and die(maybe 10-20 years untreated). The thing is I have to control it so I'm going to be going under RAI treatment for it. It's a pill that will knock off all the antibodies in the organ. I'm pretty nervous as I will go from hyper to hypo symptoms but it is easier to control hypothyroidism. I've only read horror stories of this procedure so it doesn't make me to go forth and accept the situation. :O ! I've been preparing for this by taking a low iodine diet and it's been hell. I have to stay home the weekend and it's going to suck because I was supposed to go to my friends party. This autoimmune disease has fucked over my high school years. I hope I can see the end of tunnel and find the light for college, because high school sucked because of this. My pill popping time is around 2 p.m tomorrow so I will update later. I just want support during this tough time. I'm not posting anonymous because I want you guys to know who I am.

You'll be grand, and fair play for being so serious about it and taking the pre-cautions. Best of luck man, honestly :)

I'm happy that you'll be getting treatment, and that you're serious about your disease. I hope everything goes well and you come through it fine.

Thank you guys. @Yellowduckie: I'm seious because the RAI treatment will last forever. That means I will take a replacement thyroid drug(synthroid) for the rest of my life. It's like getting a tattoo. I just hope I dont regret it at all.
