Things always seem to get really awkward when I'm around my managers at work. I'm the new assistant manager and I just can't seem to stop being so awkward around them. The make jokes and I don't laugh, or if I do it's very fake. They try and talk to me, and I don't know how all of a sudden. It's like walking on eggshells. Do you think it might be because I don't know when to work and when to play with them?

I'm technically part of management, and I only get (sometimes) a bit awkward with the General manager. The assisstant managers and supervisors I treat like friends.

I'm not the same way, but my manager is my grandma, so. I think you got it spot-on. If you haven't been working there for long, you'll have trouble knowing where to draw the line, and you're probably just drawing the line as near to yourself as you can.

Eh, I dont' give a shit. To me it's just a job. One of my managers is a total bitch... when she bitches at me I just roll my eyes and laugh... and there is another manager I'm like... really good friends with and talk trash with about the bitch manager... So, sorry, but I don't have this same problem.
