Hi, Im a Senior in high school and I'm still having a bit of trouble deciding on a career for the future. I love cars and stuff, and also like to build things. I have narrowed my choices down to either Mechanical Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology. If anyone has some information about these cources that could help me out I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I have heard of Mechanical Engineering, but I am not familiar with Welding Engineering Technology. I know that Mechanicals are pretty versatile and do a little bit of all engineering stuff.

Mechanical Engineering would be a lot more verstial. It's more then just working on cars. My uncle is a mechanical engineer, and he works for Erwin Seating, a seat making company (the largest one in the world actually). 60% of the people at my university are mechanical engineers, and I know a couple people who co-op in medical equipment, automotive, all terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, ect. I would go mechanical

take mech , you can do so much more with it and they paid a hell of a lot more than welding which is based on that alone and any major with tech at the end of it is not worth taking if you have the oppurtunity of taking more .

Ive done some more research and Welding Tech is only offered at exclusive schools so most people probly don't know what Im talking about. But they actually get paid more than mech and it looks lke a great career. I think thats what I will go for.
