who here thinks we should create a virus, that searches a person's computer for firefox, and if it's not detected, uninstalls IE and install's firefox in it's place?

-- Posted by okumsup at 9:07 am on Mar. 23, 2008

That would be the best virus ever.

No. Internet explorer works better for my school's site. I have firefox too, and I'm using it right now, but If you got rid of my IE i would have to kill you.

I dunno, and quite frankly, i don't care.
I really don't find a great amount of difference between firefox and IE anyways.
What's so much better about it?

firefox is
1) not created by microsoft.
2) much more secure
3) easily able to be made better
4) less likely to crash
5) can make use of Ad-Block Plus, which blocks pop-up ads, as well as embedded ads...
just to name a few

Then what the point of doing it in the first place?
, just face the facts, you fail.

the point of doing it, is to try to get people to stop using internet explorer.
if people stop using it, the websites that require it will start switching ti cross-browser compatibility.

so you're wrong. you fail.

You lot are all fucking idiots. iirc IE6 (explorer.exe) is an integral part of the operating system and takes great difficulty and causes many inconvenience to uninstall.

fine, we'll just have it install firefox, and set itself as the default operating system

No, because IE can be just as secure as Firefox if it is locked down properly.  Even more so.

And what concern is it of yours what browser other people use?

-- Posted by espresso8097 at 6:57 pm on Mar. 24, 2008

I do agree that Firefox is better, but deal with it.

Say I were an Opera user (sometimes I am), would you make me change to FF?  I do not agree with changing other people's computers.  When they are prepared to see the light then they can chose to do so themselves.

-- Posted by madinflux at 1:09 pm on Mar. 25, 2008

IE has been recorded to be less usable then firefox. It has a slower startup time than firefox. It loads webpages slower than firefox ect. Many websites that use ActiveX do require you to use IE so it is still needed.

-- Posted by neotreo at 3:15 pm on Mar. 25, 2008

we gotta make an active x thing for firefox
