-- Posted by ElephantStone at 9:29 am on April 4, 2008 I just opened a letter from NCAD, the best art college in ireland, and although I havent been outrightly accepted, Ive been placed on a waiting list. Which means that once actual exam results come out, and people who have been put on the accept list, but have decided to go to a diffrerent college (another college has a higher preference), then people on the waiting list get accepted. Im quite pleased, because NCAD rates portfolios out of 1000 points, and I got 447.5. Considering i spent only 6 months at it, while also studying for school, I almost got half marks from the best art college in the country. While there are people applying who did a 1 year portfolio course. I am extremely please with it, for the amount of time i spent at it, in relation to the points i got. It says on the letter : "Last year places were offered down to a portfolio score of 515. However offers will be made to applicants with lower scores this year as there are more places available and the overall standard of portfolios was not as high as 2007."
