-- Posted by what the mong at 6:31 am on April 11, 2008 I just recently bought a new EVGA GeForce 8600GT for my HP pavilion a6300f computer which has a grpahics card built into the motherboard which is nvidea 630i/7100 chipset. I installed the drivers for the new card and then installed it into the desired PCI-E slot. When i rebooted the computer screen was completely discolored and cracked out and could barely make out any text. Does anyone know what went wrong here? -- Posted by espresso8097 at 8:33 am on April 11, 2008 Did you install driver?  Did you configure your resolution and quality (is it set to 8bit when it should be 32bit?)? -- Posted by drifting at 5:19 pm on April 11, 2008 Make sure that the mobo is set to enable the slot, the power connector is connected (I dont think that the 8600 requires one though) and that your PSU is large enough. If that doesnt work, email EVGA and/or HP. -- Posted by Dickij03 at 6:21 am on April 12, 2008 Sounds like a duff card tbh. 8600 requires very little power aswell.. Have you installed the latest nvidia drivers?
