well..i rushed this passed season and i'm quite glad i did. I found a group of people that i can be with most of the time, they listen, they help, they are a riot, and always around...its worth it. My advice is rush, see if you like the sororities and if you do, pledge...if you don't like the people don't

we don't have sororities or frats here

well, we have sororities and frats, a whole variety of them, but i don't intend on rushing next year. i personally have just never desired to be in any kind of sorority. but i do intend to be a part of any other kinds of clubs or organizations.

Some schools have a greek system where you join sororities/fraternities.

I find that most people that join are the annoying people that I can't stand being around.

My school doesn't have greek life (too small) but a few of my friends at bigger schools like USC and NYU rushed and absolutely love being in a sorority. They don't live in the house but have their own apartment off campus and just go to meetings and do events with their sorority sisters. This is perfect for them because they don't have any of the drama of being in the house but have a great group of friends and fun social events every weekend. It's really a personal choice but I've heard great things about a number of sororities so you shouldn't be scared about rushing - chances are you can find a sorority or frat that's a good fit for you.

Whenever i pass by a frat house or get invited to a frat party where i have to pay(bullshit), i usually yell greeks are freaks. Mind you, when you rush you usually have to pay fees to be in that frat thing, and if you think about these fees are lot like a cover to a club because if you pay the fees and get into a frat than you like don't have to pay to go to these parties. Now if your college is in a rural town where there are very little things to do in the city than probalby you should rush cause thats like the place you socialize. In my case because where i am from, toronto, i have options which are normally better than found in the greek system.
