I'm wondering what actually makes an orgasm feel so good? And if possible, why this trait exists (i.e. Why is it important during "mating" that the final result feel as satisfying as it does)?

I believe it has something to do with a serotonin or endorphin release, or something.

I remember reading that the female orgasm aided conception, the vaginal muscles contracting in that way.

I think that is the euphoria and relief afterwards. Endorphins aren't really a powerful culminating feeling, but more the lasting sensation of a drug. And I don't know that there is a use for it feeling good, all but one other species on the planet has no kind of pleasure from sex. Strange questions.

"The Red Queen" is an excellent book pertaining to this and raising question in why humans have sex. Some argue it is the same as the appendix today. Left over from years of evolution, only there to "make" humans and animals breed. We can't just say "Hey, I want a new me" and then split cells and multiply, So this was a small incentive to get it done, and make sure humans try over and over again to get it to "take". Also, never mind this is a week old.

Sounds plausible. I'll accept it for now. Apparently simply stating the above raises a red flag and LW has just yelled at me to write more. Therefore I'm going to finish this sentence and try again, as my post is now somewhat more "verbose".
