What was the application form like? Did they just accept anyone? One of the replies there was by someone who was active 2 days when she wrote her reply. Another reply is just a full stop.

That was sooo weird! They were on LiveWire for less than 6 days and they're advice was a fullstop!
Seriously?! How did that happen?

Honestly.
That's ridiculous.

The eHelp system was new -- no-one was sure of how to work it back then =\

Yes, I do know that now. I was talking to an ex-support leader today.

Oh dear.

That's odd. I became a support leader not long after that, in March 2005, and I don't remember the replies being that bad. I'd imagine it would have something to do with the eHelp being new and people still trying to figure how to respond to short messages with few details on there like in the first link (due to the fact that in the serious forum, you could just ask for more information), but the second link wasn't too bad aside from a few replies.

Although I do think it's fair to say that the standards for support leaders back then weren't as strict as they are now.

E-help had only just been introduced back then, and you could become a support leader earlier on than now I think.

There hadn't been a norm established for eHelp replies at that point, and I believe that it was easier to become a support leader at that time.  There was a crack down on support at some point.
