I heard something about a texas sinkhole a couple days ago or something. It was two football fields wide and 200 feet deep then. has it expanded? has anyone heard about it? when do you think it will stop? how do you think it was started?

Oh yes a friend told me about this and I was pretty shocked...

I wonder how did the hole started??? I blame Global Warming for this >_<

Are you talking about the one in Wink? I think it has stopped...mostly shallow wells that collapse cause them...

I haven't heard of any others, though...

Oil caused this. They took out oil from underground, thereby leaving a big hole.

It was from some factory place pumping water under ground.

Sinkholes are simple to explain:

The Texas one is large for a obvious reason: that entire area has huge areas where oil was extracted. Over time as water flows into this areas, the supporting soil is eroded. As this occurs, eventually a hole will open.
