I'm texting him right now and he just said something about how he's going to be sad thinking about his mom today and I don't really know what to say. I really want to know what the deal is, but I have no idea how to go about asking.. I mean, won't it be awkward if i just outwardly say, 'oh about your mom..is she dead?' Just be sensitive to the topic since it obviously will be a soft spot for him. Why don't you text back and just ask, 'how so will you be sad?'His mum might not be dead but there are a number of reasons to what could make him feel that way.
