Ok I am looking at power supplies for my pc. I notice some of them have one rail with a really high amp EXAMPLE http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2700093&CatId=2535 Then others have multiple rails with lower amps. EXAMPLE http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3010720&CatId=2535 I have been told have a single rail and splitting it is a bad idea, is this true? Or should I go with the single rail with the better supply?

Ok, do you have a quad core or a high end graphics card. Otherwise you have no business for buying 1000 wat power supplies.

Ok, unless you doing SLI. Then just get a 400-1000 PS don't really matter. You'll get enough power with just 500W one.

I use a 600watt and SLI 9600GTs and a q6600. For me i got 4 12v rails each with 18amps.

Look for a 600w Enermax. Don't skimp out on your PSU.
