They are actually going to start putting porn on the gas pumps. That way, you can watch someone else get fucked.

Big deal, we pay like $8.30 per gallon.

-- Posted by Briley 07 at 11:43 am on May 13, 2008

well that's your fault, now isn't it?

-- Posted by FTF at 11:45 am on May 13, 2008

Its depressing. The pump here in Nikiski is like $3.80 a gallon. Sucks when the only mode of transport you can use gets 11MPG. I can barely get 100 miles on a full tank, so I end up filling it up once a week or more. Over $80 every time I have to fill it up from empty. SUCKS.

I would sell my truck and ride my horse everywhere if it was that expensive...

What's really sad is people replying acting like this isn't a lot of money. It should not cost $40 to fill up a car. I remember my dad used to spend $50 on his truck, and I'd definitely not want to see how much it is now.

And those of you saying it's higher where you live, keep in mind, this is the average. Obviously, some cities will be higher.

-- Posted by Enzeru at 11:50 am on May 13, 2008

People have been spreading that rumor around for ages about the porn at the pumps. I'm surprised that, that is the average because I've seen some for more and I thought a lot of them were charging more.

-- Posted by Soren Kierkegaard at 11:51 am on May 13, 2008

Another reason for why I ride my scooter everywhere I need to go.

I'd buy a wagon and make someone pull me around at gunpoint.

I don't think it's ever been that cheap in Britain. The lowest price for a litre of fuel I can recall ever hearing about was about 51.9p, that was mid 80s. -->*50 for average tank size, that's £26 to fill up.

Obviously we do.
Clearly, the high gas prices are normal for your country. Not here. Not a single person I know here is used to having to pay this much for gas. And this is the primary reason you cannot compare your prices to ours.

You and I live in very different places.

You've gotta be fucking kidding. Our fuel prices have doubled in the last 3 years. It's at the point where even the wealthy are now considering selling their Mercedes and BMWs in favour of more economic cars. Our country's becoming disillusioned with its government and this is one of the main reasons. We've recently suffered industry strikes, which further hike the prices, due to oil companies reporting record profits (in the £trillions, I think. Might've been billions). Clearly, you're making hasty (false) assumptions.

Perhaps, and I apologize. I don't keep up on the gas prices of other countries. However, my comments still stand otherwise. This is a record for this country, and another country having the same problem doesn't mean that we cannot be upset about it.

Not to mention the dollar being so fucking low in value.

Psh, England pays over double that on average, and that's ridiculously high for us.

I never said you weren't, but it just seemed like you're trying to one-up this country on gas price annoyance. Not what the thread is about.

I'm not. I was just saying we pay over double. I don't care about it really seeing as I'm not even affected.

-- Posted by allsmiles at 7:40 am on May 15, 2008

Everyone's affected. Noticed the rising food prices?

Keep in mind that America's infrastructure is dependent on cheap gas.

Of course these numbers aren't accurate anymore, most of them are higher.

We rank 44 in the cheapest gas prices in the world. Some other countries with an outrageous gas price are economically related to us yet their prices are nearly double (example the UK); we really can't complain too much on our prices. That nullifies your previously posted rebuttal.

Of course some countries with high gas prices on there do make a generally higher salary than the average American so it justifies the price change, but not the others that closely relate to our economy.
