I'm still amazed it has not been on the news at all, from what I've seen. They covered the tsunami all fucking day for a week, but apparently this doesn't warrant media coverage.

They have my sympathies. Yeah, the news here isn't making a huge deal of it either. Certainly not as big a deal as 1 Australian dying overseas. But who wants to ruin the anti-China from the recent Tibet issue right? China's had a lot of issues lately though.. a bit weird. Early this year, there was an almost nation-wide snow disaster (not sure if there was much coverage where you live) where many died, and domestic travel was brought to a halt for weeks during the busiest time of the year (Chinese New Year). Then the Tibet thing. And now this.

Oh wait, looks like tonight's news reports it much more seriously. Unlike yesterday and day before.
