So, I'm curious, has any other support leader ever taken this course or a similar one?

It's being offered at my school, it's a professional course, one that the student services people have to take, and it's as it sounds. Ways to stop suicide while being the first aid. Obviously if someone going to do it, you can't just help them, you're going to have to get them to a psychologist.

But really, I heard about it, went and signed up right away, thinking about here, because obviously the eHelp system is asking for this first aid.

It's 140$, which makes me feel a lot more confident, and you get an Ontario-Approved certificate and everything, so I feel like it's going to be worth it. I'm only having to pay 20 tho, the school is paying the rest.

Has anyone else taken a real-life course like this before?

I'll make sure to share my knowledge once it's done! (It's on the 26th and 27th)

I'd like to do something similar, definitely. But my school is poor.
So am I.

No class. I don't even know where to take one.

Well, I'm a certified EMT.
I'm also trained to handle suicidal people, if that counts.

But, I'd still never talk to anyone here about it, there are certain things we are supposed to detect in order to help them.

Not really. I've taken a course in school about how to deal with younger children with emotional problems, and how to go about helping them and whatever. We got a certificate too, and it lasted a couple of weeks. It was really interesting and I appreciated the opportunity.

That sounds really interesting. I've never heard of anything like that round here.

Wow. I've never heard of anything like that, but I would definitely take it if I was offered the ability.

I'd like to actually. I took a not-even-half-decent first aid course that was offered through the school, and could probably benefit from something like that.
