For the past few months, I have been on another site that is usually for teens who have nothing else to do but to post stuff. So, I'm chilling in the life-issue section where teens ask about sex, menopause, puberty, relationships, and life. Well, there has been a lot of topics on sex and pregnancy lately so I read the problem and responses. I put my response in a MEANINGFUL approach as in "Old enough to have sex, old enough to be responsible. You knew the consequence of having sex, yet you didn't consider the minor chances. Talk with parents and boyfriend. " Guess what? I get shit load of users bitching at how I'm ranting instead of helping. Also, the original poster "thanks" them for flaming at me. I've been called an "ass", "asshole", "idiot", and "stupid person." But, the sad part is majority of other users ALSO state the same shit as I did, but more in a fancy way with rewording. I don't know what the fuck is wrong. I want to seriously find those people and smash their face with a baseball bat. In the end, the original poster says "well, my boyfriend left me and told me that he's not part of this." The connection is... why me? Why pick the fucking me? any ideas? comments? suggestions?

Because the truth is, people only thank you when you say what they want to hear... Otherwise, you get told your advice is shit.

Because its a forum full of bitchy ranting teen users who each think they have the right answer and everyone elses isn't worth a damn. Maybe you just sounded too much like everyone's parents, responsible and whatnot, God Forbid! I would have completely forgotten about it, just like I will forget about this post in about 45 seconds.

I'm not being a parent. I give them COMMON SENSE since majority of them are too scared to tell their parents..

People dont like the truth to be bluntly shoved down their throat. They just dont like it.
I'm not shoving truth down their throat. I'm giving advise and if they take it, that's cool

I meant truth as "the obvious things to do at the moment." They probably knew what to do, and how they should go about it, but they just probably didnt have the balls to face it so when you went in there and exclaimed your advice, what they read was "Get your ass together, this is what you have to do, stop pussyffoting around it." At least, thats how I would take it. Try to put yourself in their shoes, and you can easily see how they think. Not that difficult once you get used to it.

What else can they do? Hide until they gain weight and become noticeable?

Because people don't usually ask a question like that to hear the truth. They want to hear what they want to hear. They want people to be sympathetic and say "poor you". Trust me. I've learnt that most people don't want an answer to their problem, they just want the sympathy. xxx

They can get sympathy from somewhere else instead of putting their problems and looking for sympathy.. After all, a forum is for question-answer..right?

People generally want the sympathy. They don't like to be told the logical thing to do in most cases.

Idk...I think you were right to post what you did, bc if teenagers think they're "grown up" enough to spread their legs, then they need to be "grown up" enough to deal w/ the consequences of their actions. Bc growing up is a part of life. And they can only hide from their problems until they're "grown up" enough to get kicked outta their parents' house and put on their own. I post stuff like that all the time and get called a bitch, but you know what, I ALREADY know I'm a bitch, I dont need the people on LW telling me so, and bc I delight in telling people what they NEED to hear and not what the WANT to hear. BC it's a part of life. And exactly what my signature says, If they did not want my opinion, they should not have asked. That's just the way I OPERATE.
