My sister hijacked my graduation to have her wedding and now no one is going to come. Surprise! Come on sister, it's not like I haven't had this same date planned on the same month like...my whole life?? Yeah. I also can't attend my sister's wedding. Thanks for stealing my spotlight. We are in a huge fight. My mom and dad are on my side for once but they aren't going to do anything to change it. I'm devastated and I can't stop crying...

Shit happens. Get over it. It's one/a few days of your life, doesn't change all the work you've done nor affect all the good times you had with friends. Same with her, it's one day. Pick which one you want and enjoy it!

Exactly. It will suck being there with no family, though.

wtf ... i hate older sisters... yeah my sister recently got married too, and my mother and father informed me and brother that in a few years my dad is going to become a traveling respitory therapist, and our sister gets the car, the house, and EVERYTHING in it... yeah, and me n my brother get "i love you" -- and i recently just graduated college, and I GOT JACK SHIT. my sister's bday is next week and my parents are watching her kids for free for like 5 days... fuckin older sisters grrrr

It's an overrated ceremony that doesn't in any way change what you've done during your 4 years. Get the diploma some other time, if you choose to go to the wedding. OR go to your graduation, and miss the wedding. Either way, it's one ceremony for the other, one ceremony that takes one day and has way too much significance. Personally I'd be much more inclined to go to graduation... weddings are boring!

This one doesn't understand the concept of graduation. That's incredibly selfish of her.

No. I am not missing my GRADUATION that I have been looking forward to my ENTIRE life. You aren't very logical.

Graduation isn't a big deal! It's like, sit, stand, walk across stage, hand shake, find your seat, sit... leave.... Ta-Da! Seriously, graduations are just so silly. I feel they are pointless. A wedding is a much bigger deal. They are sealing their lives together and such. Like c'mon, getting married is a big huge deal. Maybe she had a reason for getting married for that day or such. Just go and do something fun with your friends or something.

OMG what is wrong with you people? It's my GRADUATION. I went to school for 12 years to celebrate leaving. I'm not missing it.

That's so mean of her. What was her reason for doing that anyways?! Why can she just let you have your day, and then she can have hers?! I'm sorry. :[

I don't even know but I'm crying so hard right now it's ridiculous..

What city is the wedding in? is it at the exact same time as your graduation? is there no way your family could do both?

What is your relationship like with your sister? Is it possible that she didn't realise how much your graduation means to you? Is this the sort of thing your sister has a tendency to do? Have you tried speaking about it with her, and trying to stay rational and unemotional about it?

you can't tell her to change the date?
