Have you ever not told your gynecologist the truth about your sexual activity? Especially for your first visit . . . when asked if you are sexually active, did you say NO when really you were? Or ever about how many sexual partners you have had? This can be in the past, or if in the present.

I've never had to lie to anyone about it.

MALE - I don't count.

Never been yet, but I'm guessing a lot of girls do that.

Is it common for a girl to visit a gynecolegist? Just out of curiosity.
-- Posted by Trastie at 12:52 pm on May 28, 2008
That would be quite dumb, now wouldn't it?
-- Posted by ashka at 12:52 pm on May 28, 2008
ive never been to one.
-- Posted by the raven at 12:53 pm on May 28, 2008
No, I have never lied about my partner history.
-- Posted by DirtyConspiracy at 12:53 pm on May 28, 2008
I've never been.

I don't lie to my gynecologist. I don't see a purpose in doing so.

I don't count haha

Never been. Do they have a male counterpart to the gyno? I mean, I know they have urologists, but guys don't need to start seeing them until they're what..30s? 40s? I guess it's easier because their "equipment" is on the outside.

It would be stupid to say you havent had sex when you have....they can see if your hymen is still intact. Although I did lie to my regular physician, because there was no reason she needed to know, and I was 16 and it would have resulted in a lecture.
-- Posted by Hey Jewlee at 12:54 pm on May 28, 2008
No, because it can only hurt me to lie. Obviously, I went there for my health, so why would I lie?
-- Posted by Pisciculus at 12:55 pm on May 28, 2008
It would be dumb because they cant help you if you dont let them help you. Otherwise you are paying for nothing. And if you have had sex and you tell them you havent they might not notice something or test you for STDs or something....

I've never been to one yet. I don't know why I would lie about it, either.

Yes. You're supposed to go at least once a year after you become sexually active and/or you turn 18, whichever comes first.

But a hymen that is no longer intact means nothing. It can be broken other ways.

It would be stupid to lie about that. It's not like she's going to tell someone or lecture you about it. She's there to help.

True but Im willing to bet that more often than not it's broken during intercourse.
