When is the best time for apartment hunting? My future roommates and I have not seriously looked at any apartments yet and it's a little worrisome. I expect the apartments to fill up fast near the uni so I was hoping to start early in our search and secure an apartment beforehand, but they're telling me we should all wait until July (a month before classes are set to start). Good idea? Bad idea? Maybe because I'm excited that I'm jumping the gun a bit, but I don't like procrastinating when it comes to finding a place to live.

Whenever you start to look, just make sure that you tell the landlord you don't wanna move until __________________ said date. (when school starts, or a week prior or something)

Depends where you live. I'm from Boston and when my roommates and I looked for a place for September in April, it was already slim pickings.

We always start looking in March. Most of the good places here are full by May. I'd go ahead and start looking, like, yesterday.
