I've seen what it does to people. They say "I will never be like that. I only use it once in a while". Then I see them again years later and they still say they "only use it for recreational purposes". They have no life, a junk car, no furniture in their low income apartment, no food. They have nothing but their drug friends. They have a 1 year old kid they let watch movies I don't even like.

Success isn't always measured by financial or material objects

One of my old friends has an ATV, 2 dirtbikes, souped up car, video games, lots of doper friends, etc. But his life still sucks. You can see in his eyes he burns with hate all day cuz he knows his dealing is gonna bite him.

you know a topic is null and void when the OP uses the pronoun "it" to replace a plural antecedent
-- Posted by Roflcakes at 2:51 pm on June 10, 2008
In contrast to most antecedents I do believe most readers understand what "it" is. By the way, you forgot to capitalize the "y" in "you".

It easier to see this the older you get. Sucks

I think people should enjoy their lives in whatever manner they see fit as long as they are not harming others.

You guys are ridiculous, look at other people and judge them all you want but you really shouldn't open your ignorant mouth if you haven't even tried anything. Your stuck in junior high health class. Grow up, drugs ruin the lives of a small fraction of the people who use them, as does alot of things that are unavoidable. At least with drugs people can make their own choices and live their life the way they want to, sober or intoxicated.
-- Posted by EmilyAnn at 8:48 am on June 27, 2008
Don't group everyone that does drugs together, seriously. How fucking ignorant. Yes, some people end up messed up, but not everyone. I'm sure you drink alcohol. Did you know that's a drug? I smoke weed and occasionally eat some shrooms, but I'm damn successful and I will be throughout my life. Seriously, it fucking pisses me off that anyone would be so ignorant. I have a job, I'm going to school, I have my own apartment, an amazing family, a great boyfriend, wonderful friends, etc. Stop being so terribly judgmental, please.

define the word drug. heroin's a drug, cocaine's a drug. meth is a drug. alcohol is a drug. do any one of them enough over a period of time and you're bound to become addicted. i myself prefer marijuana, only psychologically addictive (the same kind as TV and tasty food, mind you. psychedelic drugs are pretty much in that same category of safeness as long as you're not an idiot about using them. tell me one person who's become truly addicted to LSD or MDMA (ecstasy)

Don't trust black people. They seem nice, but look what they did to Uganda. Fascinatingly enough, not all drugs are the same thing. Go figure.

In your original post you talk about how drug users have "no life, a junk car, no furniture in their low income apartment,no food." Yet now you say "success isn't always measured by financial or material objects" even though you stated exactly the opposite of that, you originally measured a drug user's success by MATERIAL OBJECTS. Furthermore, you couldn't be more wrong about your hypothesis. Drug use is a part of society, whether you like it or not. Most people experiment for a couple of years, especially in their youth and move on. You are describing a very very low percentage. Whether you like to believe it or not, most drug users really do use recreationally and do not take it to the extreme. My suggestion is for you to get out of 5th grade health class, and be a bit more OPEN-MINDED about life in general. Maybe you'll see the light.

I take drugs reguarly (except cannabis) and i'll be a business graduate from uni once i finish college starting on 35-50k a year, i have lots of food, a nice apartment and i drive my precious BMW - most probably have a better life than you to be honest, does it hurt that a dirty druggy scum has a better standard of living than you? :( Then again i've known many people who take drugs and have a terrible life like you described, but they were no-lifers in the first place. People who take drugs aren't losers, there's just too many losers who take drugs

Tell that to all the professors I convinced to admit they used to smoke pot ;] Also, many nurses at the hospital. A few doctors admitted to it as a child. Obama, my friends, smoked to get high, that was the point.

ive taken just about every drug there is and loved every minute of it. you just have to control the drug and not let it control you.

Yes, an old friend of mine entered that lifestyle. First of all it was just for a 'laugh' and now I see her becoming dependant on it.
