What do you think of Window's Vista? My Dad got my a labtop for me as a graduation gift. I hear it sucks but I also hear it's ok.

Imagine dying by slowly bleeding in an Iron Maiden.

That isn't even 1/1000th of how bad Vista is.

-- Posted by NEGATIVE0 at 1:13 pm on June 10, 2008

it's crap. not even worth dx10.

-- Posted by Reefer at 1:14 pm on June 10, 2008

Better then XP.

If the computer can run it, its great.

Most of the people that say it sucks either bought a shitty computer with it already installed, installed it on their pre-existing shitty computer, used it on a friends shitty computer, or have never even used it.

Shocking. I know.

The fact of the matter is that Vista takes a nice computer to run. Yes, you can get a much lower spec'd computer that will run XP fine, and will install Vista, but barely run it.

Vista was programed for the future. It banked on computing laws that state computers get more powerful and cheaper every few years. This is true, but most people are choosing cheaper over more power, which isnt what Microsoft planned on.

Ive said it before, and I will say it again. Installed on the right machine, I prefer Vista over XP.

it works great for me

i love vista.... and its a LAPTOP not a labtop

-- Posted by pleaseremove at 3:08 pm on June 10, 2008

There is nothing wrong with it. I would consider it to be considerably better than XP and anyone i know who has tried it and actually used it for more than a week or so has come back saying actually, it is much better. So to anyone who says they hate it, say why. Give real reasons. I'm fed up of people saying they hate it and not giving a reason.

As long as the computer is fast enough with enough RAM (good enough video card especially with Aero enabled) it can be decent.

I happen to love it...

-- Posted by IceTeaEdwin at 6:07 pm on June 23, 2008

Lol...labtop

-- Posted by espresso8097 at 12:25 am on June 24, 2008

Since this thread is resurrected somehow...Vista decided to start randomly shutting down my hard drive while running, XP is working just fine.

i don't like it, it looks nicer but it runs slower. my friend just got a laptop with vista and i find it confusing and overly busy. it is alot safer than XP but OS X is still safer than either. I would try it, if you like it and it runs fine then keep it but if not downgrade to XP. i would recommend a mac but if its not in your budget (seeing as you just got a new LAPTOP (not labtop)) then dealing with it is your only choice
