I'm working part time now but shopping around for something else. I was under the impression that once school ended and I opened up my schedule, (to anytime at all they needed me) I would get 35-40 hours for the summer, but I'm still around 25 a week. And there's no more hours available, I'm sure of it, we're overstaffed as it is. So I've been looking around for potentially either something I could do on the side or something to replace the job I'm at now if it worked out that way. And I applied at some place that's always looking for college kids (I think its telemarketing, they don't give you a lot of details). And thinking of setting up an interview with them. I guess what I'm afraid of is seeming arrogant and/or unprepared if I basically give them my situation and ask if they either have something that I could do on the side, OR something to replace the job I'm at now. It kind of strikes me as shopping around rather than trying to wow these people at the interview. But that is still my situation. I would just look for another part time job if I could, but I sort of painted myself in a corner by saying I could work any day, 24/7, they just stick me in for 25 hours where its convenient to them, makes it harder to find another job. I'm not faulting them or anything but it does block up your schedule a bit.
