Maybe cut down on running for a while

Is this a new phenomenon for you?

Anemia...possibly? I'm in really good shape but I used to get really bad chest pains as soon as my heart rate got over 130. As it turned out I was severely anemic.

Any sort of allergies? Maybe run at a slower pace for a while until you can figure out what is wrong with your breathing.

take a break. how often do you run, and for how long? maybe work up to it if its something new?

always take chest pains seriously. see a physician. it may just be gas but itmay be serious

i try to run every other day..and i get up to a mile but i have to stop sometimes and take a break because it hurts too badly sometimes, but maybe its because i just started running again last week - could that be it? i have no allergies..and my speed is only about a 9 minute mile, so not too fast

Do you smoke or do drugs? Those can have an effect. Also, just because you're skinny it doesn't mean you're in shape. You can be as skinny as a toothpick but be totally out of shape. That is probably the reason.

That was happening to me when the weather was changing to spring. It was my allergies though, making my chest tight and painful. Even if I don't think I'm running that fast, I still slow down further until I can get control of my breathing.
