When people talk about bulimia, they make the girls sound to be brittle and frail and weak and such. My question is; how long do the effects of bulimia take to affect someone generally? and would they not be able to play well in sports anymore?

After a while, sports would be impossible. Bulimics, however, are able to sustain a picture of normality, weight wise, longer than anorexics.

It'll make you feel faint after a purge. Most of the weak and frail-ness comes from anorexia, though. I've been throwing up for about a month, and my psychiatrist could already tell problems with my teeth.

Its really different for everyone. I've been binging and purging almost every day for about 7 years and I'm pretty healthy minus a few things with my teeth that were easily fixed.

it varies with different people depending on how much fat and such each person has stored on heir body... its not good, i used to do it, but if you must then i suggest using flouride, enamel strengthening toothpaste and moutwash, and be sure to brush your teeth after every purge so your teeth dont get too messed up.

actually you should wait about an hour after a purge before brushing, as brushing immediately after increases the acid in your mouth

depends on the extent

bulimia doesn't immediately affect you, for a while it's just like having stomach flu, only you don't feel sick, so it won't be too bad. But it's like meth, you won't see effects after the first time maybe, but however confident you are, I assure you you will get addicted, and then effects are bad, specially the puffy face look, real attractive, if you're into looking like a balloon

when you have bulimia, you arn't always thin. you can have bulimia and: be underweight. be overweight. or be average weight. when you play sports, you may have a horrible headache or heartburn. andd, plus; you won't have much energy to run and you will probably fall down or faint. you'll get dizzy tooo..

nooooo not right after! wait at least an hour after you purge before brushing your teeth....otherwise you're brushing off your enamel w/ stomach acid. so after you purge rinse, wait, THEN brush

yeah, rinse out your mouth with a mix of baking soda and water instead, to neutralize the acid
