Get good grades including in advanced classes, be involved in your school and your community including leadership positions, get good test scores, get good letters of recommendation, and write a good essay.

Also have a plan for paying for it.

Be prepared to pay over 30-40 thousand dollars a year for tuition.
Be extraordinary. A friend of mine had B's senior year in advanced classes, did well on his SAT but credits his admittance into Harvard because of his summer program to Morocco and unique extracurriculars.

more like 50. but ivy leagues generally have amazing financial aid

Good grades and a good SAT/ACT is not enough. With ivies, decisions are primarily based on your extracurriculars. There are people with 2400 SATs and 4.0 GPAs and they still get rejected because they don't do shit outside of school. Do something amazing that sets you apart from others. Unless you're a URM.

Yeah.. Ivys usually have very generous grants...

ahhh.. that must be why I'm having such a easy time beating the curve thanks to all the people getting admitted by those means.

Well, another piece of advice from me then:
-Get internships if possible, even ones that don't pay (they'll may pay later). Make sure that they are relevant internships from an actual company (so no McD or stuff like that). It really doesn't matter if they have an opening or not, just go ask around.

-Get good recommendation letters; build PERSONAL relations with the teachers that you want to have your letter written by. Also, be sure to submit those forms to them early so they have time to write.

- Join competitions, and win a few. It doesn't matter how insignificant they may seem; win as many as possible.

10) Be Asian

wow youre retarded.

I'm not sure how old you are but it seems like you want to go to an Ivy League just cause its an Ivy League.

I go to an Ivy League (unmentioned) and honestly I regret applying early.  I was attracted to the name as well, but I honestly don't really fit in this particular environment.  You should spend at least some time really researching what it is you want from college.
