Which of the words above BEST describes your impression of eating disorders? (You might prefer a different word over the ones above, but choose the one that closest matches your feelings. If you'd like to post your own feel free).

I think anyone who "chooses" to have an eating disorder does not really have one. Maybe they starve themselves/bing & purge, but they probably don't have the mental component...

anyone that says an eating disorder is pathetic is really not a nice person at all. with the overwhelming importance we put on appearance these days some people just want to live up to those celebrity appearances and have the fear of being made fun of if they look any different.

actually if they force it upon themselves at first, it becomes natural to their body and then they can't help it those people i think are pathetic for subjecting to peer pressure and stereotypes so bad that they hurt themselves for it

Pathetic. I know that they're a serious thing, but pathetic is always my first impression.

I think it depends on the situation the person is in. If they do it and they're skinny, that is just pathetic. But if it is serious like a disease and stuff, that's devastating

I think that they are difficult things to deal with and experience first hand. They are also difficult to watch unfold if you know someone who has one.

EDs are not all about appearence. Some people have them and they dont look in the mirror or think 'fat' or count calories... they just have so much shit in their lives that they can only control their emotions through food. same as binge eaters.
